What does the term Laminar air flow mean?

Laminar flow, also known as streamline flow, which are a family of curves that are instantaneously tangent to the velocity vector of the flow, occurs when a fluid or gas flows in parallel layers with absolutely no divergence from either layer. Laminar air flow workstations will have laminar air flow which would be the opposite of turbulent air flow. In so far as to say laminar air flow is also known non technically as "smooth". The best way to describe this is if you have ever seen a cigarette up close with no breeze the smoke from the cigarette will rise vertically for some distance and then will start to undulate which is non laminar air flow. In our Laboratory we use laminar air flow hoods to protect the air from contamination. One should also keep in mind that changing your HEPA Filters about 5 to years from when it is installed is recommended. Laminar work stations are also available to keep your work area free and clear of certain micro particles that can easily contaminate on latch on to the item in question. Some wet benches or even laminar flow workstations come with the option to adjust your flow hood. The purpose of laminar air flow is so that your laminar workstation or air flow hood can be focused and free of up to 99.9 microns of contaminates.
We offer a standard Laminar Flow Hood?

Our standard laminar flow hoods simply describes the type of air that passes through the hood. For the reason of not disturbing your work and espaecially if it weighs only a little. Your work can be disrupted by concentrated air flow. Since we offer standard laminar air flow hoods this does not happen. Your work is safe. Your products are kept clean. Most of all your staff works better and quicker.
